HUH? This bump has prompted Best Buy to start carrying vinyl in about 100 stores across the country. Right, so since people don’t buy CD’s anymore they are instead buying vinyl? I don’t even know any DJ’s that still spin records in the days of Serato. (Link) (via deleteyourself)
I’ve been buying vinyl over cd since I was 17. In the last 10 years I have seen an increase of retailers carrying the product (you no longer have to buy it only at shows or hunt it down), an increase in titles (most top 40 now gets pressed), and a retarded raise in price (6 years ago if something was 14.00, not pressed on 180 gram I would think it was bullshit and now that is on the cheaper end. I saw a copy of Frampton Comes Alive selling for $26.00 last week, BULLSHIT! Best selling live album, 16 million copies pressed in 1976 there is no reason you can’t find a copy for under $2.00 or free. This really drove me crazy because I can’t imagine every wanting to hear Baby I Love Your Way for $26 bonerz.)

Indeed, one tour with my band people ALWAYS wanted vinyl-never cds. They would get slightly miffed if you didn’t have vinyl. Also, when I lived in London I worked at this place called Juno Records. It almost exclusively deals in vinyl. You wouldn’t BELIEVE the volume of orders they would do in a day. And I would venture a guess that many of those orders were destined for aspiring DJs.
